The BCCPA Annual Awards Program is one of the Association’s most prestigious recognition programs, honoring sworn law enforcement officers and civilian professionals whose outstanding achievements and contributions distinguish them among their peers. Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award
The Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award recognizes a sworn law enforcement officer who has demonstrated exceptional professionalism, leadership, dedication to duty, and service to their agency and community. The recipient exemplifies the highest standards of the law enforcement profession through outstanding performance, initiative, innovation, investigative achievement, community service, or actions that exceed the normal expectations of their position.
Civilian Employee of the Year Award
The Civilian Employee of the Year Award recognizes a non-sworn law enforcement employee whose exceptional performance, initiative, professionalism, and dedication have made a significant contribution to their agency, its employees, or the community it serves. The recipient demonstrates excellence in their responsibilities and exemplifies the important role civilian professionals play in supporting the mission and effectiveness of law enforcement.
Valor Award
The Valor Award recognizes a law enforcement officer who, in the performance of their duties, demonstrates extraordinary courage and selflessness while confronting circumstances involving an imminent or substantial risk of serious bodily injury or death. The award honors an exceptional act of bravery performed beyond what would reasonably be expected under the circumstances and which reflects the highest traditions of courage, service, and dedication within the law enforcement profession..
Nominations
The Broward County Chiefs of Police Association invites member agencies to nominate deserving individuals for consideration as part of our Annual Awards Program. Nominations should highlight the nominee’s accomplishments, contributions, and actions that demonstrate exceptional service, professionalism, leadership, or valor consistent with the award criteria.
