Officer / Civilian Employee of the Year Nomination Award
The Broward County Officer and Employee of the Year Award Program was created to recognize outstanding services and achievement by a sworn law enforcement officer or deputy and non-sworn employee on behalf of the members of the Broward County Chief’s of Police Association.
Purpose
The BCCPA Officer and Civilian Employee of the Year Award recognizes expectional contributions by officer or sheriff’s deputy, and civilian employees engaged in the delivery of law enforcement related servies or contributions in the support of services demonstrated within Broward County.
Guidelines
Officers/Deputies and Civilian Employee in good standing with their nominating agency and the Broward Chiefs of Police Association who, during the period of October 1st through September 30th demonstrated:
• Excellence in the delivery of service to the community
• Significant achievement in community policing initiative or problem solving effort • Selfless acts of bravery or life saving efforts
Selection
Currently accepting applications for Nominations. Any member of the BCCPA may nominate one officer or deputy and one civilian employee for recognition. Written nomination forms may and supporting documentation must be submitted to the BCCPA President no later than October 30th, 2025. A selection committee comprised of five impartial members will review all nominations and select one recipient for each reward. Members of the selection committee shall not serve concurrently and will be nominate and selected by the serving President. Final selections shall be president to the BCCPA President or designee by December 1st for review and notification arrangements to award recipients and their respective agency representative. The BCCPA award recipients and a guest will be provided lunch and recognized during the December holiday luncheon.
